Patient LoginMy Eye Consultants is led by Dr. Andrew N. Lu, OD — with his father Dr. Luis W. Lu, M.D., FACS, providing surgical expertise and specialty ophthalmologic care. A rare combination of optometry and ophthalmology under one roof, with one shared commitment to your vision.
Founder · Day-to-Day Primary Doctor
Dr. Andrew Lu founded My Eye Consultants to bring a modern, patient-first approach to East Valley eye care — and brings an uncommon blend of precision and warmth to every visit. Trained at Midwestern University in Glendale and mentored in medical optometry and ocular disease by his father, Dr. Luis W. Lu, M.D., FACS — and with an earlier career in film and television rooted in his NYU studies — he sees patients as whole people, not just prescriptions.
As the practice's primary doctor, Dr. Andrew personally handles routine eye exams, contact lens fittings, ongoing care for chronic conditions like glaucoma and diabetic eye disease, and same-day urgent optometric care. Unhurried, thorough, and genuinely invested in your long-term vision health.
45+ Years · Double Board Certified · Fellow ACS
Dr. Luis W. Lu, M.D., FACS is one of the most credentialed ophthalmologists in the East Valley. Trained at Columbia University in New York with a fellowship at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, he is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and in Ocular Surgery — the rare double board certification held by very few ophthalmologists in the region.
As a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) with over 45 years of medical and surgical eye care experience, Dr. Luis personally performs the practice's surgical procedures — including oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery, cataract evaluation and surgery, complex anterior segment procedures, and specialty care for corneal and retinal conditions. He also handles urgent cases directly when they require surgical or specialty ophthalmologic intervention.
His career spans 35 years in Pennsylvania, seven more in Arizona, and the founding of My Eye Consultants in Chandler. He is the author of four published ophthalmology textbooks and 25 contributed chapters, with academic recognition from professional societies across four countries. Native bilingual in English and Spanish.
Patients are seen by the doctor whose training best matches their needs — and routinely benefit from the unique combination of optometry and ophthalmology in one practice, with one shared record.
Comprehensive exams, contact lens fittings, glasses prescriptions, dry eye, allergies, and routine monitoring — all handled by Dr. Andrew. Same-day urgent optometric care available.
Cataract evaluation, oculoplastic surgery, complex corneal and retinal conditions, second opinions, and any case requiring surgical decision-making — handled by Dr. Luis directly.
One practice, one chart. If your situation evolves — from routine exam to surgical evaluation — you don't switch practices or repeat tests. Both doctors collaborate on your care.
Urgent eye care is handled by whichever doctor's training fits the case — both see acute cases same-day, including injuries, infections, and sudden vision changes.

MD & OD Together →Dr. Andrew Lu founded My Eye Consultants in Chandler with a clear vision: a modern, technology-forward optometric practice that also gives patients direct access to surgical and specialty ophthalmologic expertise — without the usual referral run-around.
His father, Dr. Luis W. Lu, joined to support that vision as the founding ophthalmologist. Now with more than 45 years in practice, with academic recognition from four countries and a career that includes Columbia, Harvard, 35 years in Pennsylvania and seven more in Arizona, Dr. Luis brings a depth of surgical experience that's uncommon outside of major academic centers.
The result is a practice where the optometric and ophthalmic specialties are not in different offices, not on different phone numbers, and not on different charts. Patients get the right doctor for what they need — and the continuity of care that only a family practice can offer. Read more about the MD + OD model →
The doctors actually know your name, your history, and your concerns — and when one of them needs the other's expertise, they just walk down the hall. That's care.
— Long-time Patient Review
For routine eye care, contact lens fittings, glaucoma monitoring, and most day-to-day optometric needs, you'll see Dr. Andrew Lu, OD. For cataract evaluation, oculoplastic surgery, complex corneal or retinal conditions, surgical second opinions, or any situation requiring an ophthalmologist's expertise, you'll see Dr. Luis W. Lu, M.D., FACS directly. If your needs evolve mid-care, both doctors collaborate — you don't have to switch practices or repeat tests.
An optometrist (OD) is a Doctor of Optometry who provides comprehensive eye exams, prescribes corrective lenses and medications, and manages most eye conditions medically. An ophthalmologist (MD) is a medical doctor who completed medical school plus a residency in ophthalmology, allowing them to perform eye surgery and treat the full range of medical and surgical eye conditions. Most practices have one or the other — My Eye Consultants has both, in the same office. Read more about the MD + OD model →
